The newly finished synthetic turf surface of HIG Field at Finley Stadium shines under the lights for the first time.
It
can be called either a field of dreams or a field of opportunity,
either way Campbellsville University's new synthetic turf field is
complete and so is the first phase of the $1.2 million "More Than a Game"
campaign.
EnviroTurf workers put the final touches on the HIG Field surface
Tuesday at Finley Stadium after a 15 day turf installation process.
"I am very pleased with the finished product," said Rusty
Hollingsworth, CU director of athletics. "I believe this surface will
serve our university very well for many years. It has been a long
process, and I'm glad to see it completed."

Goal keeper Erin Grimsley is mauled by teammates after she stopped a shot in a NCCAA shootout win
Thom Jones is familiar with youth movements. The fourth-year women's
soccer coach at Campbellsville University started seven freshmen most of
last season and guided his Lady Tigers to a 12-8-2 season that ended
with a 1-0 loss to Covenant College in the NCCAA Mid-East Region final.
But Jones isn't resting on any laurels for that season, even though his
team tied a school record for most wins.
"I have a good group of recruits coming in this year," Jones said
recently. "We'll have a lot more depth, something we haven't been
blessed with in the past."

Covenant College in the National Christian College Athletic Association
Mid-East Region Final.
