CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Sometimes timing is everything. Despite four Tiger turnovers, it was Campbellsville University's second takeaway Monday that led the Tiger junior varsity football team to its first victory of the season, 20-14, over Cumberland University at Finley Stadium's HIG Field.

Bryan Harris picked off a pass with 2:12 left to play and returned it 70 yards late to lead the Tigers to victory. He later had a fourth-down pass break-up to secure the victory and give the ball back to the Tigers.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Turnovers proved costly for the Campbellsville University junior varsity football team Monday in its season opener against Temple Baptist College at Finley Stadium. Temple, coached by former Tiger assistant coach David Pool, downed the reserve Tigers, 14-0.

Lance Turpin guided the Tiger JV to two touchdowns under center Monday.

Trailing by four with three seconds remaining Monday, former Taylor County High School quarterback Lance Turpin guided the Campbellsville University junior varsity football team to victory as he scrambled out of the pocket for a 2-yard, game-winning touchdown as time expired. Turpin was hit at the 1 and stretched across the goal line to give the Tigers a 23-21 win at Cumberland University.
