CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Fourth-ranked Campbellsville University men's wrestling hosted four teams in Gosser Gym Saturday for its first home duals of the season, finishing 3-1 on the day.
The Tigers beat Calumet College St. Joseph, 49-0, and Tiffin University, 21-18, to start the day. After falling, 23-18, to Notre Dame College, ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII, CU responded with a 45-6 win over Mount St. Joseph.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tyler Alsip, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, now sits atop the NAIA men's wrestling rankings for the 133 pound weight class, the national office announced Wednesday. Alsip is the eighth CU wrestler in its 10 year history to be ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, and is the third Tiger to top the 133-pound rankings since 2010.
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University men's wrestling will host its first of two all-day dual events on campus this season with the Campbellsville University Duals in Gosser Gym on Saturday, Nov. 23. Action will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude around 4 p.m. Following the collegiate action, CU will host a middle school match on its mats between Taylor County and Scott County.
The featured dual of the day will be Campbellsville, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, and Notre Dame College, ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II. The battle will take placec in the third round of duals for the day, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EST.
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Campbellsville University went 1-2 in the Eastern Michigan University Duals on Saturday, Nov. 16, posting a dominating win over NCAA Division II Findlay University, 48-3.
The Tigers fell to NCAA Division I programs Clarion University, 33-3, and Kent State University, 32-9.
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Ten Tigers, attached or unattached, placed in the Top 6 for their weight Saturday to open the 2013-14 wrestling season at the University of the Cumberlands' Patriot Open.
