Throws lead Tiger and track and field after Day 1 of Mid-South Conference Championship

 COLUMBIA, Ky. — The Tigers are right in the mix after day one of three events completed at the Mid-South Conference Championship hosted at Lindsey Wilson College.
 
Corbin Harris started the day off for the men in the 3000 meter steeplechase after taking a fall and getting back up to finish in fourth-place, running a personal best time of 9:57.78.
 
Jaron Jackson was immediately able to pick up another set of points in the men's 400m. He placed seventh in the event with time of 51.02.
 
The most points for CU came in the men's hammer throw. Malik Williams placed second with a throw of 43.92m, Caleb Costin wasn't' far behind Williams as he placed fourth with a throw of 41.81. Next came Jay Drennen placing seventh with a throw of 38.62m and Anthony Sams rounded out scoring in the event with a throw of 38.16m.
 
The Tigers are back in action for day two tomorrow with events starting at 12 p.m. ET.
