Amano, Enkhbayar and Nobile earn First-Team Mid-South Conference honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Campbellsville women's tennis had a trio of Lady Tigers earn All Mid-South Conference honors this season, which was announced at tonight's awards banquet.

Kaeda Amano was named the MSC's Player of the Year and is only the second Lady Tiger to ever earn that honor. In addition, she earned First-Team All-Conference honors along with Bolor Enkhbayar and Majella Nobile.

The MSC also announced Tomomi Nagao from Cumberlands earned Freshman of the Year honors and Lindsey Wilson's Justin Martin was named the MSC Coach of the Year.

Amano posted a regular season record of 16-1 in singles -- all at No. 1 -- while recording a 16-1 record in doubles action. In all 16 singles victories this season she won in straight sets. In 11 victories at No. 1 doubles, her closest match was 8-4, while posting five 8-0 victories.

The only loss by Amano in both doubles and singles came to a former MSC Player of the Year, Henar Munoz, who transferred to Georgia Gwinnett for this season.

In addition, she is the highest-ranked conference player in the ITA Rankings as Amano is No. 12 in the country. She's also ranked second in the ITA East Region behind Isidora Petkovic of Union College.

Enkhbayar went 10-6 on the season in singles and 11-6 in doubles. In conference play, Enkhbayar went 4-2 in doubles with her lone losses coming to University of the Cumberlands' Jaclyn Jewell and Tomomi Nagao, 8-6, and Lindsey Wilson College's Fiona Curty and Chiara Epifani, 8-3.

In singles, she went 4-2 as well as she played in the second-seeded singles position all year. Her lone loses came to No. 18 Jovana Peric of Lindsey Wilson and Shae Henry of Georgetown College.

Nobile had a solid junior season as well. She started the year with eight straight wins before falling to Georgia Gwinnett's Gabreille Robinson on March 14. On the year, Nobile went 13-3 in the third-seeded singles position.

In doubles, she teammed up with Amano for 12 matches and Enkhbayar for five. With Amano, the duo went 11-1 – their lone loss came to Georgia Gwinnett's top-pair of Emerald Able and Henar Munoz. With Enkhbayar, Nobile went 2-3.

The Lady Tigers are 11-6 on the season and finished tied for second in the Mid-South Conference at 4-2 but slipped to the third seed in the tournament after dropping the head-to-head matchup with University of the Cumberlands.

In the regular season, Campbellsville beat University of Pikeville – who is the sixth seed in the conference tournament – in a 9-0 contest. Throughout the nine matches in the dual, the Lady Tigers dropped just nine games throughout the entire team match.

The winner of the Campbellsville-Pikeville contest will move onto the semifinals of the conference tournament against the winner of the Cumberlands and Shawnee State University match on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at the Western Kentucky Tennis Complex.

Last season, the Lady Tigers suffered a 5-2 loss in the semifinals of the conference tournament to Cumberlands.
