BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Chrys Castro,
Blayze O'Keefe and
Alejandro Reyes earned First Team All Mid-South Conference honors, while
Pablo Alonso Munoz was selected to the Second Team All-MSC the conference announced on Thursday night.
Reyes garnered his second-straight first team honoree, while Castro was a second team selection in 2017. In their first seasons in a Campbellsville uniform, both O'Keefe and Alonso Munoz have earned All-Conference honors for the first time in their careers.
In 2018, Reyes posted a record of 8-5 in singles competition, which included a perfect 5-0 mark at No. 2 singles. In his doubles matches, Reyes went 11-5 overall playing at No. 1 and No. 2 throughout the season. Reyes is part of the ninth ranked doubles team in the NAIA with Castro, where the duo went 9-3 this season. Reyes is also ranked 11th individually in the ITA tennis rankings.
Along with joining Reyes with a 9-3 record to round out the ninth-ranked doubles team in the NAIA, Castro has gone 12-4 overall in doubles competition. He highlighted doubles competition with a 12-3 mark at No. 1 doubles. In singles competition, Castro went 11-4 overall and was 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
O'Keefe finished off his impressive first season at Campbellsville going 12-1 in single matches, where he went 10-1 playing the third-seeded singles matches. In doubles matches this season, O'Keefe posted a record of 13-3 overall. He was 3-0 at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while going 7-3 at No. 2 doubles.
As a freshman, Alonso Munoz played predominately at No. 4 singles and notched an overall record of 11-5 in singles action. In doubles competition, Alonso Munoz went 10-7 and played at all three doubles position during his first year of collegiate tennis.
Along with announcing first and second team award winners, the conference announced its individual award winners, while recognizing its Academic All-Mid-South Conference honorees, which were announced on Wednesday morning.
