Four Tigers named to All-Conference teams; Cumberlands claims MSC Championship

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville Cheerleading had four Tigers be named to the Mid-South Conference Teams today, while the team finished sixth in the conference championship.
 
Mackenzie Timmons and Jesse Howard both earned First-Team honors, while Randal Parmley and Taylor Blevins earns Second-Team mentions.
 
University of the Cumberlands won the team title as the Patriots tallied 89.6 points to take home their second-ever MSC Cheerleading title. Cumberlands also won the championship in 2011.
 
Cumberlands, Cumberland University and Georgetown College earned wins in the three stunt competitions – coed, all-girl and mixed partner.
 
Cumberlands' Lauren Stokes, Brianna Smith, Molly Lawson and Amari Cotton captured the all-girls title with a score of 54.7 points. Georgetown's Alex Hughes and Leah Pederson won the co-ed group with a score of 49.9 points. Cumberland's Autumn Ashley, Zack Wilkins, Alexis Powell, Sydney Steverson grabbed top honors in the mixed competition with a score of 48.2 points.
 
Pikeville finished second in the team competition with 84.4 points. Georgetown ended in third with 81.6 points. Lindsey Wilson finished in fourth with 78.2 points followed by Cumberland with 76.8 points and Campbellsville with 75.7 points.

Following the MSC Championships, Breanna Smith of Cumberlands was selected as the MSC Cheerleader of the Year, while Lindsey Wilson's Bailey Sedam earned MSC Freshman of the Year honors. Cumberlands' Corissa Dyer and Pikeville's Jeannie Stone were named MSC Co-Coaches of the Year.
 
Pikeville's Caitlyn Hunt was selected as the MSC cheerleading champion of character recipient. She earned the award based on her academic and athletic achievement, campus and community leadership, future ambition and demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.
 
Two cheerleaders from each school earned All Mid-South Conference First Team honors, while another two earned second team all-conference honors.
