COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Lady Tigers are hanging with the competition after day one of competition at the Mid-South Conference indoor track and field championship by sitting in eighth place.

Deja Thompson used a podium finish in the women's weight throw by placing second with a mark of 14.33m.
Katelyn Young went on to throw for a 12.37m,
Jasmin Green threw for 12.06m, and
Brianna Harman with a throw of 10.34m.

Ja'Zell Woodard-Johnson helped the Lady Tigers with an early point in the women's long jump by placing eighth with a jump of 4.91m. She would end the day by qualifying for tomorrow's 60m dash finals.

Tamia Smith and
Daisha Edelen participated in the event as well this evening. Smith jumped for a distance of 4.50m and Edelen jumped for a 4.45m.

On the track,
Ta'Neshya Allen was Campbellsville's lone qualifier in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 9.79.
Taylor Cox was also able to put the Lady Tigers on the board by placing eighth in the women's 600m with a time of 1:47.01.
Maggie Parrish and
Michaela Sebastian were close behind with Parrish running a time of 1:53.28 and Sebastian with a time of 1:59.36.

The final scoring event of the day for the Lady Tigers was the women's distance medley relay. CU went on to finish in seventh place and ran a time of 14.38.82.
