Kortas headlines CU's MSC volleyball awrads

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. — Jana Kortas headlined Campbellsville's awards at the breakfast held prior to the recent MSC Volleyball Tournament.


Kortas, a junior from Simpsonville, Ky., was named Academic All-Conference, was a First Team All-Conference selection and was nominated as CU's representative for the Champions of Character Award.
 

Teammates Annija Abolina, freshman, Riga, Latvia; and Jackie Schwieger, senior, Tinley Park, Ill.; were named Second Team All-Conference.

 

Lindsey Wilson's Jennifer Ramirez was the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year while SLWC's Makenzie Montano was MSC Freshman of the Year.

 

LWC's Andy Cavins was selected by his peers as the Mid-South Coach of the Year while SCC's Jodie Klein was voted the MSC Libero of the Year. Shawnee State's Devan Scarberry was named the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Champions of Character recipient.

 

Kortas had 390 kills on the year and a .243 hitting percentage.
