Three members of CU softball were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NAIA has announced that 308 softball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Campbellsville University placed three on that list.



In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least a junior academic status to qualify for the honor.

The CU student-athletes receiving the honor include: junior shortstop Emma Napier, Scottsville, Ky.; senior second baseman Jordan Cornett, Lexington, Ky.; and junior centerfielder Kacie Vincent, Louisville, Ky.

In all, 18 MSC players made the team. The 15 other MSC scholar-athletes making the team include: Georgetown's Madelyn Brown, Michelle Dresselhaus and Tori Shover; Lindsey Wilson's Caren Alexander, Mikaila Etheredge, Jordan Gilland, Emily Priar and Alexis Rodgers; Pikeville's Kayla Cantrell and Kayla Morgan; Shawnee State's Ericka Leighty and Ali Thompson; St. Catharine's Hagan Goldey, Kasie Prather and Chelcie Rein.
