Campbellsville, Kentucky - Lauren Wathen was named the Mid-South Conference Softball Co-Player of the Year at the annual MSC Softball Tournament last weekend. Wathen, a senior from Flaherty, Kentucky, cranked out 45 hits in 136 appearances at the plate this season. She scored 31 runs and drove in 37 runs for the Lady Tigers this season.
As has often been the case in the Mid-South Conference this season among most sports, Campbellsville placed more student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference team than any other conference member. Eight Lady Tigers were named as Academic All-Conference selections. They were
Allison Horton,
Elaine Briscoe,
Dana Price,
Lauren Wathen,
Bethany Rothermund,
Jessica Gunby, Cassidy Kroecker, and Katelyn Daniel (SO/Nicholasville, KY).
Campbellsville won it's third straigt MSC Tournament title and now advances into the NAIA Region XI Tournament hosted by Freed-Hardeman University next week.
