Chance Kopacz, who was a finalist for the MSC Player of the Year award, was one of four First Team outfielders selected. He hit .437 for the Tigers during conference games and has 46 overall RBIs entering the postseason.

Catcher Keaton Neeb was one of two selected behind the plate. He hit .342 during the regular season, including nine doubles, a home run and 18 RBIs.

Danny Lapchak of Yorba Linda, Calif., was the only designated hitter on the first team. Lapchak started most all of CU's games as DH, hitting .342 from the two-hole with 10 doubles, four home runs and 30 RBIs. He was hit by a pitch 14 times during the regular season, including 12 times during MSC play.

CU's lone first team pitcher was senior starter Jacob Cook, who was a three-time MSC Pitcher of the Week after throwing three complete-game shutouts against conference foes Shawnee State University, University of Pikeville and University of Rio Grande. He posted a 1.88 ERA and 4-1 record in his seven games against conference opponents. He led CU with 63 strikeouts.

Second Team honors were picked up by Tiger second baseman Rylan Chin, short stop Tanner Nielsen and pitcher Michael McBride.

Chin, who received the honor as an extra fielder, led the Tigers with a .412 batting average. His .971 fielding percentage was the third best in the MSC for second basemen.

Nielsen not only picked up second team short stop honors but was named the Gold Glove winner at short stop. His .957 fielding percentage at short was by far the best in the MSC with a conference low 10 errors. He hit only .291, but scored 40 runs for the Tigers.

McBride received All-MSC honors for the second-straight year on the hill. The senior posted an 8-1 overall record and 2.93 ERA. He had 36 strikeouts.

All-Academic honors went to Chin, Rusty Devitt, Craig Edwards, Marc Garza, Brandon Johnson, Tyler Roberts, Aaron Schwoebel, Lance Riddle and Mason Yates. CU's nine Academic All-Conference honors tied University of the Cumberlands for the most of any team this season.

Lindsey Wilson College, which was presented with its MSC regular season champion trophy during the banquet, also took home Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Champion of Character honors. LWC head coach Jonathan Burton was voted by his peers as the Coach of the Year after leading the Blue Raiders to a 38-12 overall record, including 17-4 in conference, during his first year at Lindsey Wilson. Leandro Perez, a junior shortstop, was named the MSC Player of the Year, while Derek Cape received the Champion of Character award.

Georgetown College freshman pitcher Tyler Arthur took home First Team honors as well as Freshman of the Year and Pitcher of the Year. He posted a 9-0 record, including 7-0 in conference. His ERA was 1.39 overall and 1.17 in the MSC while striking out 66.

The MSC Tournament Opening Round begins Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at Campbellsville's Tiger Field. Four games will be played at Cu and four will be played at Lindsey Wilson's Egnew Field in Columbia, Ky. The University of Rio Grande defeated the University of Pikeville, 4-3, in 10 innings Wednesday at Tiger Field in the MSC Play-In game.
