Bobby J. Brooks, M.D.

Team Physician

 

               Dr. Bobby Brooks was born March 2, 1947 and raised in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Following his graduation from Todd County Central High School, Dr. Brooks attended Murray State University and then the University of Louisville School of Medicine. In addition to his formal education, Dr. Brooks has attended numerous post-graduate courses and seminars related to various areas of medical practice.

 

               Dr. Brooks established his private practice of Family Medicine in Taylor County in 1974. Currently, he is an active medical staff member for Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY and an affiliate medical staff member for Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY. In addition to his duties as the team physician for Campbellsville University, Dr. Brooks is also the team physician for Campbellsville High School and Taylor County High School. Dr. Brooks is involved with multiple professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the Kentucky Medical Association, the Southern Medical Association, as well as being a current member and past president of both the Taylor County Medical Society and the Taylor County Medical Staff.

 

               Dr. Brooks is currently a Lt. Colonel in the United States Reserve Army Medical Corp. Dr. Brooks was called up to active duty during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in the fall of 1990. During his time in uniform, Dr. Brooks was decorated with Army Achievement Medical and the Army Commendation Medal (the highest non-combat award given by the Army).

 

               Dr. Brooks is married to Lillian Ann Beard Brooks and has two daughters, Heather Brooks Ford and Ashleigh Brooks.









Gary F. Bloemer, M.D.

Team Orthopedic Consultant

 

               Dr. Gary Bloemer was born August 18, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up in Louisville, Kentucky where he graduated from Trinity High School in 1973. Dr. Bloemer attended the University of Louisville where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1976. Dr. Bloemer received his medical training from the University of Louisville, School of Medicine and completed an internship under General Surgery. His residency includes the University of Louisville for Orthopedic Surgery and the Medical College of Georgia. His current appointments include the Audubon Regional Medical Center, Jewish Hospital, and Frazier Rehabilitation, all of Louisville, Kentucky.

 

               Dr. Bloemer is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Fellow American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. His professional associations include the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Kentucky Orthopedic Association, and an Advisory Member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Dr. Bloemer is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine, a member of the Kentucky Commission for Handicapped Children, Team Physician for Moore High School in Louisville, Kentucky, and Orthopedic Team Physical for Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Dr. Bloemer has served as the Orthopedic Team Physician for Campbellsville University for 16 years. He attends most home football games to see to injuries that occur on the field. He also sees CU athletes in his office, as needed, to help guide treatment and rehabilitation plans, and also performs many of the surgical procedures when necessary. He has been an instrumental partner in Campbellsville University Sports Medicine.

 

               Today, Dr. Bloemer is partner in the medical practice of Ohio Valley Orthopedic with Dr. Zach Sterns in Louisville, Kentucky. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky and has three children, David, Kyle, and Elizabeth.
