Derek joined Campbellsville University in July 2002 as Assistant Athletic Trainer.  He was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in July 2004.  Prior to joining the Tiger Athletic Training Team, Derek served as Assistant Athletic Trainer (2001 – 2002) at Central Arizona College in Coolidge, AZ.  He served as Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, in 2002, with the Milwaukee Brewers Professional Baseball Club during Spring Training and the Arizona Rookie League Baseball Season.  He also completed an internship in Athletic Training with the Quad City Mallards Professional Hockey Club, an affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the NHL. 
 

Derek received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College, Rock Island (2000) and his Master of Science degree in Sports Health Care from the Arizona School of Health Sciences (2002).  He is from Sterling, IL, and enjoys traveling, baseball and playing golf.

   
James D. Nichols

A native of Winsted, Connecticut, James joined the C.U. Athletic Training Staff in August of 2004.  He received a B.S. from Castleton State College and while there was captain of the rugby team, helping his squad to two appearances in the New England Regional Tournament.  James received his M.S. from Ohio University in June of 2004.  While in Ohio he worked at the Gallia Academy High School in Gallpolis, Ohio.  In addition to his previous workat the high school level, James has completed two volunteer rotations at the Empire State Games in New York. James enjoys playing rugby, cheering for the New York Yankees and playing with his dog, Tags.
   
Scott Baughman

Scott Baughman  first joined the C.U. Athletic Training Staff in 2004 as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. Scott received his B.S. from the University of West Florida where he worked with many high schools, the University baseball team and was a student assistant with the NWFL Pensacola Power for two seasons.  He completed his Masters in Business Administration at Campbellsville University.  Scott enjoys visiting his hometown of Mary Ether, Florida as well as being outdoors, watching movies and playing baseball and paintball.
