
Thomas Jones has completed his third season as the Lady Tiger's head soccer coach with a combined record of 32-25-5. Coach Jones joined the Tiger staff after coaching at the high school level for 13 years. In 2008 he was named NCCAA Mid East Region Coach of the Year and in 2009 reached the 100 mark with career wins. He coached 8 years at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA), in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Prior to that, he was the boy's and girl's varsity soccer coach at Hilton Head Christian Academy (HHCA), in South Carolina.
Jones graduated from Cedarville University in 1992 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in Bible. He was also a 4 year varsity player for the men's soccer team. He was team captain and Most Valuable Player for the 1991 season.
While at HHCA, Coach Jones coached the varsity boy's soccer team to a State Runner-up finish in 1993 and to a State Championship in 1994. Both of these were first time achievements for the school. He was also named 2-time coach of the year for the state of South Carolina. He also started the women's soccer program at HHCA.
During his time at CVCA, his girl's team won 2 Regional Finals and advanced twice to the District Semi-Finals.
In the spring and summer, Coach Jones runs and is the Director of the Junior Tiger Indoor League and the Tiger Team Camp. He also is the Director of Coaching for the Campbellsville Youth Soccer Program.
Under Jones, the team has held a high standard for academics. In the last three years 25 of his players were Academic All-Conference members, which require a GPA of 3.25 or better. Also, 9 players were NAIA Scholar Athletes by maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher. During this time he has had 5 NAIA All-Conference and 7 Honorable Mention players and 6 NCCAA Mid-East All Region and 5 Honorable Mention players. In 2009 2 girls were named NCCAA All American Honorable Mention, which is a first time achievement for the program.
Coach Jones holds his National Youth License, Level 1 and 2 Goalkeeping Diploma, and National Diploma through the NSCAA.
He is married to Heather Jones and they have two children, Dylan who is 9 and Jacob who is 7 years old.
