Vanessa Adkins took over as head coach of the Campbellsville University co-ed cheerleading squad in 2007.
She led the Tiger cheerleaders to back-to-back Mid-South Conference championships in 2009 and 2010 while being named the MSC Coach of the Year both years. During that time she has had a cheerleader named All-Conference four times and All-Academic 13 times. In 2009, Bethany Gray was named the MSC Cheerleader of the Year and Alicia Wren was named the MSC Champion of Character.
Adkins cheerleading background includes being a member of the 1992-93 University of Kentucky cheerleading squad and also cheering four years at Greenup County High School. While at Greenup County, she was a member of the UCA National Championship Cheer squad of 1992.
Adkins graduated from Morehead State University in 1998 and obtained a Masters of Education at Campbellsville University in 2006. She is an elementary school teacher with the Campbellsville Independent Schools.
She is married to CU men's basketball head coach Keith Adkins and has four children, Ashley, Bradley, Sarah and Luke.
