Coach Keith Adkins is starting his12th season at the helm of the Campbellsville University Tigers. During Adkins' tenure, he has led the Tigers to five 20-win seasons, including four in the past six years. His stretch of four 20-win seasons in five years from 2010 - the most successful five-year run in program history. Prior to Adkins, CU had a total of four 20-plus win seasons in its previous 36 years as a four-year college.

The Tigers captured their first Mid-South Conference regular season title in 2009-10 season and ended the season with a 26-8 record and NAIA National Tournament berth after finishing runner-up in the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Beginning in 2005-06, Adkins built a five-year run that was the most successful five-year stretch in the program's history The run of 20-win seasons began in 2005-06 with a 27-6 record, and the program's first Mid-South Conference Tournament championship, which sent the Tigers to the NAIA National Tournament. The trip to Kansas City, Adkins' second as head coach, resulted in the program's first national tournament victory, as CU advanced to the field of 16 teams for the first time. In 2006-07, CU returned to the national tournament with a 27-7 record and also won its first round game. CU followed with a 26-10 record in 2007-08 and the Tigers' first-ever NAIA National Tournament Fab Four. On Nov. 22, 2010, Adkins became only the second CU men's basketball coach to win 200 games with a win at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He achieved the milestone in only 333 games. Following the 2010-11 season, his career record at Campbellsville is 213-148.

Prior to taking the head coaching job at Campbellsville, Adkins spent six years as a college assistant at Campbellsville, UNC Greensboro and Pikeville. Coach Adkins has recruited and developed nine players who have played professional basketball. During his tenure at Campbellsville, 14 Tiger players have earned All Mid-South Conference honors and five players have earned NAIA All-American accolades. In 2009-10, he coached Nestor Colmenares to earning the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year honor.

Adkins is a native of Paintsville, Ky., where he played in three state tournaments as a back court player. In 1987 he helped lead his Paintsville team to a final four appearance. In 1988 Adkins was a member of the Kentucky All-Star team and a first-team All State selection.

Coach Adkins was named Kentucky Male Athlete-of-the-Year in 1988 for his performances in both basketball and baseball at Paintsville High School.

Adkins played his first two seasons of college basketball at the University of Notre Dame, including a second round berth in the 1989 NCAA Tournament. After two seasons in South Bend, Adkins transferred to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he was a two-year starter averaging 11 points per game as a senior. Adkins ranked second in the nation in free throw percentage as a junior and still holds numerous Seahawk team records.

Adkins is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington (1994) with a B.A. in physical education. Adkins and his wife, Vanessa, have four children: Ashley, Bradley, Sarah and Luke.

Bryan Milburn is in his 11th season as an assistant coach for Campbellsville University. Coach Milburn's primary responsibilities include the coordination of the Tiger recruiting efforts, scouting of opponents, monitoring academic progress and the individual development of the Tiger big men.

Prior to Campbellsville, Milburn was an assistant coach at Lindsey Wilson College for five seasons, helping guide the program to four NAIA National Tournament appearances.


Coach Milburn graduated from Russell County High School in 1991, where he was an All-State performer and a member of the Kentucky All-Star team. Milburn played collegiate basketball at Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, Milburn's 1993 Commodores squad finished 28-6 with a SEC regular season championship and a berth in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Milburn graduated in 1995 with a B.S. in human and organizational development and political science.
Milburn and his wife, Kelly, have two chidlren Jay and Ty.

Justin Watson is in his fourth season as a Campbellsville Unviersity assistant coach and junior varsity head coach. 


Watson was a member of the 2006-07 Campbellsville Tigers team that advanced to the NAIA Tournament second round for the first time. He served the following season as a student assistant coach and team chaplain before joining the staff in 2008. He was an NAIA Scholar Athlete for the Tigers in 2006-07.


A native of Eddyville, Ky., Watson earned his B.S. in pastoral ministries and a Master's of theology from Campbellsville University. He and his wife Ashley reside in Campbellsville.


Shawn Savage
Grad Assistant



Shawn Savage joined the Campbellsville University men's basketball coaching staff in 2011-2012 after completing a four-year playing career for the Tigers. During his tenure as a Tiger starting guard, Savage became a member of CU's 1,000 Point Club and also one of the leading 3-point shooters in program history.

He helped Campbellsville to two NAIA Tournament appearances, including the program's first-ever trip to the NAIA Fab Four in March 2008. He also helped CU to its first-ever regular season Mid-South Conference title in 2009-10 by hitting a 3 in the final seconds of regulation against the University of the Cumberlands to help send the game into overtime. The Tigers' victory in extra time clinched the MSC title.

During his senior season of 2010-11, Savage collected 108 3-pointers, the third most in a single-season by a Tiger basketball player. He also led the NAIA for 3-pointers made and was in the Top 5 nation-wide for all levels of collegiate basketball in 2010-11. He scored a career-high 27 points against Life University in January 2011. Following the 2010-11 season, he was named a Mid-South Conference All-Conference selection.
