He was named the Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year in 2010.

The 2010 season marked the best in the program's history, as the team broke the school's record for wins (13) and goals scored (57). That mark improved the following season with a .643 win percentage and 13-7-1 record in 2011. While the 13 wins tied the overall season mark for most wins, the Lady Tigers set a new mark for wins in the regular season (12) in 2011.

Under Jones, the team has held a high standard for academics. In the last five years players have been named Academic All-Conference 41 times, which require a GPA of 3.25 or better. Also, 11 times a player has been named NAIA Scholar Athletes by maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher. During this time he has had 11 Mid-South Conference All-Conference selections and 12 MSC honorable mentions. Ten Lady Tigers have been named to the NCCAA Mid-East All-Region Team and five have received honorable mentions.

In 2009 two girls were named NCCAA All-America Honorable Mention, which is a first time achievement for the program. In 2010, CU goalkeeper Brandie Hagerman was named MSC Freshman of the Year and became the program's first NCCAA All-America selection. Megan Campbell also made program history by being named CU's first NCCAA Mid-East Region Player of the Year in 2010.

Through his tenure, he has seen the Lady Tigers' career goals record broken twice. Lauren Swencki was the first to break the record in 2009 with 32 career goals. Campbell broke the mark in 2011 with 38 goals.

In the spring and summer, Jones serves as director of the Junior Tiger Indoor League and the Tiger Team Camp. He also is the director of coaching for the Campbellsville Youth Soccer Program. He is also currently a coach for the state of Kentucky's 1996 Olympic Developmemnt Program (ODP) Team.

Prior to Campbellsville, Jones coached eight years at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA), in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He began his head coaching career as the boys' and girls' varsity soccer coach at Hilton Head Christian Academy (HHCA), in South Carolina.

Jones graduated from Cedarville University in 1992 with a B.A. in elementary education and a minor in Bible. He was also a four-year varsity player for the men's soccer team. He was team captain and Most Valuable Player for the 1991 season.

While at HHCA, Jones coached the varsity boys' soccer team to a state runner-up finish in 1993 and to a state championship in 1994. Both of these were first time achievements for the school. He was also twice named Coach of the Year for the state of South Carolina. He also started the women's soccer program at HHCA.

During his time at CVCA, his girls' team won two regional finals and advanced twice to the district semi-finals.
