Shelly Minix joined the Lady Tiger golf coaching staff in August 2010 as a graduate assistant. Through her tenure as a coach, Campbellsville University has won its first-ever Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament championship (2010), won a regular season MSC championship (2010-11) and played in its first-ever National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament (2011).

Minix came to Campbellsville as a golfer in 2005 from Allen County Scottsville High School, where she was a member of the state-qualifying team in October 2004. As a member of the Lady Tiger golf program, Minix helped win the 2009-10 Mid-South Conference Regular Season championship. She was finished her senior season as honorable mention All-Conference at the 2010 MSC Championship.

During her senior season in 2009-10, Minix helped set a then-school record for lowest round by the Lady Tigers golf team. Minix shot a 76 to lead Campbellsville to a first-round score of 317 at the Don Bishop Invitational at Campbellsville Country Club in September 2009. In October 2010, during Minix's first season as a graduate assistant, CU broke the record again with a 314 at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational in Rome, Ga.
