Campbellsville managed only six hits in a Wednesday double-header with Indiana University Southeast at Veterans Memorial Park to continue its streak of split twin bills. The Tigers won the first game 3-2 and lost the second 4-1.

In the first game Allison Horton notched the win with plenty of defensive support. The Tigers turned three double plays, one in the fifth with a runner on third. The other two came in the third and fourth frames. Horton gave up seven hits, one in each inning.

Campbellsville got a run in its first at-bat when Morgan Bullock single in Emma Napier, who had walked and was pushed to second on a fielder's choice by Kacie Vincent. It looked like the run would hold up, but the Tigers even got some, as it turned out, valuable insurance in the sixth with a Bailey Dillender leadoff homer and a two-out RBI single by Horton, driving in Alex Jane Clemmons.

But IUS caught a break on a phantom hit batter in the top of the seventh and the next hitter drilled a liner over the left-field fence.

Jennifer England squelched the threat with a nice sliding catch in right field.

In game two, Campbellsville got a home run from Dillender and other than Jordan Cornett's safety that was about it. Dillender also was walked twice. Cassidy Kroeker shouldered the loss in a seven-hit, three strike-out performance.

Campbellsville will take a 9-7 record into a Friday-Saturday-Sunday Gulf Coast Invitational Tournament with opponents yet to be announced. They return home on Wednesday, March 17 with a double-header against Lindsey Wilson.
