Campbellsville University's baseball team's hopes of escaping the winter weather for its season opener have been put on hold. A rare snow fall in Central Alabama has led to the postponement of this weekend's four-game series at Auburn University-Montgomery. Games originally scheduled for Feb. 13 and 14 are now scheduled for Feb. 21 and 22. The Feb. 20 home doubleheader against Spring Arbor has been canceled.

Montgomery and is expected to see up to five inches of snow by the end of the day Friday with some of the surrounding areas reporting up to seven inches by mid-day, according to WSFA-TV 12. AUM closed due to the weather Friday and rescheduled some of its weekend homecoming events.

Campbellsville is ranked No. 8 in the NAIA to start the season, while No. 23 AUM (5-3) is on a three-game win streak entering the weekend. The Tigers swept a Valentine's Day doubleheader to start last season, 11-3 and 16-0, en route to their first NAIA World Series appearance.
