The Campbellsville University Lady Tigers have inked their first commitment for the 2010-2011 basketball season with the signing of Alexandria Martin.

Martin is a 5'6" shooting guard from Unionville, Tenn. where, as a junior at Middle Tennessee Christian School, she averaged 13.3 points in an All-Region-caliber season. She shot 41 percent from behind the three-point line and 45.3 percent from the floor. She also averaged 3.5 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.4 steals in the same season.

Martin is a gifted shooter with phenomenal scoring ability, according to coach Ginger Colvin.

"She combines that scoring ability with a gritty, hard-nosed defensive edge," said CU assistant Miranda Denney. "There's not much this crafty little guard from the Volunteer State can't do."

Colvin had this to say about her newest addition to the Lady Tiger program: "We had heard great things about Alex and her ability to shoot the basketball; however, when we went to watch her play, the thing we liked most about her was her grittiness. She is hard-nosed and she works extremely hard at everything she does on the court. With her ability to score and her tough-minded approach, she will have a huge impact on our program in her career as a Lady Tiger."
