The University bowling teams continue to pound the alleys, returning from the Hoinke Bearcat Open in Cincinnati with the men finishing 53rd out of 61 teams and the women 24th out of 27.

"While our men and women bowlers did not fare as well as we would like, there were some individual standouts," said coach John Rausch. "Both teams' rosters were reduced due to injury, ineligibility and a transfer."

Jordan Sanders led the men's team with a 179 pin count good for 124th place out of 362 bowlers. Justin Ward, in his first tournament with the team, averaged 170 pins for 165th place. Other male bowlers included: Jericho McCoy (167 pin count average); Justin Durham (146 pin count average); Steven Tucker averaged 146 pins; and Jordan Antle  a 163 average.

The women were led by Christina D'Ordine who finished 81st out of 135 bowlers with a 148 pin count. Lauren Nolte was 98th with a 137 average; Deborah Dean 99th with a 136 average; Rachel Moran 108th with a 122 average; and Kelsey McArthur, in her first collegiate tournament, 116th with a 114 average.

The teams head to South Bend, Ind. this weekend for the Blue/Gold Classic, sponsored by the University of Notre Dame, a tier one tournament with 116 teams entered to date.
