Eighth-ranked Campbellsville University will add six January transfers to its recruiting class for the 2010 season - all from the west coast.

Head coach Beauford Sanders announced Dec. 14 the Tigers will be welcoming three pitchers and three utility men after Christmas. All six will likely be instant difference makers. CU is coming off its best season in school history, finishing 2009 with a 39-12 record and its first NAIA World Series appearance.

The recruits are as follows:

Tyler Hamilton, LHP, St. John's University, San Marcos, California:

Hamilton will become the third former Division 1 player on the Tiger roster in 2010. Hamilton will be transferring from St. John's University and will be looked at to provide needed depth to the Tiger's staff. The lefty sits in the mid eighties and offers a big breaking ball. Prior to St. John's Hamilton pitched at Palomar Junior College and NAIA Bethany University.

Adam Munoz, LHP, West Valley College, Saratoga, California:

The second left handed arm to come in at the break will be Adam Munoz, who stands at 6'7. The left hander has spent the last two years at West Valley College, where he has been teammates with current Tigers Tyler Derby and Nick Bertolucci. He will undoubtedly offer a great deal of depth as he has the ability to pitch out of any role. Munoz did not allow an earned run in 2009 pitching out of the Viking's bullpen.

Steve Oiler, UTL, West Valley College, Saratoga, California:

Campbellsville will warmly welcome Steve Oiler, who will help the Tigers in more ways than one. The 6'3, 220 utility man will be looked at to provide pop at the plate and help in many ways defensively. Oiler can catch, play first, and pitch. Bringing plus arm strength and plus power to the table, Oiler should be an immediate difference maker for the Tigers.

Michael Caleb, UTL, Douglas College, New Westminster, BC

The Tigers welcome the addition of the true utility player. While at Douglas Michael was a two time All Conference Selection as a utility player hitting .354 as a sophomore. He finished his career at Douglas with a .328 batting average. The true utility also logged 98 innings on the hill in two years. Michael will be an immediate impact in many ways and will be a key factor in the 2010 campaign.

Tyler Craig, UTL, Pasadena City College, Monrovia, Ca.

The 6'0 utility man will round out the defensive recruiting class of Christmas transfers. Tyler is an OF/3B who can also pitch. During his two years at Pasadena he led the school both years in stolen bases while hitting a career .280 and pitching 20 relief innings. Tyler comes to Campbellsville with outstanding speed and a great ability to run the bases. The addition of Tyler fills the remaining issues that we had after the fall. Tyler will do good things for the Tigers.

Rusty Devitt, RHP, Western Nevada College, Silverdale, Wa.

The 6'1 right hander finishes the winter recruiting class for the Tigers. Coming to Campbellsville from Western Nevada which is one of the best junior college's in the country solidifies the 2010 pitching staff. Rusty brings a live fastball and an outstanding mentality, work ethic and bulldog attitude. Rusty will begin the spring as the probable guy to be the everyday closer.

Late Summer Additions

These six join a list of five recruits that joined the program in the fall of 2009.The summer 2009 recruiting class was marked by power offensively and included a left handed pitcher that will be an immediate difference maker. All five players are California community college transfers from the Big 8 conference. The late summer additions are as follows:

Bryan Brown, OF, San Joaquin Delta College, Stockton, Ca.

Bryan Brown comes to the Tigers out of Delta College in Stockton, California. He is the first Delta player to ever ink with the Tigers. As a sophomore at Delta, Brown started in 43 of the team's 44 games, and hit .278, was second on his team in homeruns with five, and was third on the team with 44 hits.

Luke Gadow, 2B, American River College, Placentia, Ca.

Smooth fielding Luke Gadow will join the Tigers after two seasons at American River College in Sacramento, California. Gadow was one of the Beaver's most prolific offensive players, hitting .347 while leading the team in doubles. Gadow will compete for time in the Tiger infield, and will likely see most of his action at second base.

Jared Lunardi, LHP, Santa Rosa Junior College, Santa Rosa, Ca.

A 2nd team All-Conference player from the powerhouse Big 8 conference, Jared Lunardi will add much needed depth to the Tiger pitching staff. As a sophomore at Santa Rosa Junior College he led the Big 8 Conference with a 1.87 ERA. Lunardi should compete for a spot in the Tiger rotation in 2010.

Rich Rowland, C, Santa Rosa Junior College, Cloverdale, Ca.

Rich Rowland will join the Tigers in 2010 after spending two years at Santa Rosa Junior College as their starting catcher. While at Santa Rosa, Rowland enjoyed a very successful career. The left handed power hitting catcher finished his sophomore season with a .317 batting average, and was also drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2007. He will be looked at to supply depth behind the plate and be a major run producer.

Jameel Ziadeh, OF, American River College, Granite Bay, Ca.

Multi-tooled outfielder Jameel Ziadeh comes to Campbellsville after a two year career at American River College with teammate Luke Gadow. While at ARC, Ziadeh was the starting right fielder for the Beavers. Ziadeh also red shirted at NAIA Biola University out of high school. Ziadeh will be looked at to provide defensive stability and his plus speed should propel him into various roles offensively.

Also, returning for his senior year will be British Columbia, Canada native, Alex Ponich. Alex was a member of the NAIA World Series team last season. The Honorable Mention All-Conference outfielder batted .379 for the Tigers last season, with 10 doubles and 25 RBI.
