Campbellsville, Kentucky - The Campbellsville University Tigers took a big step forward in the Mid-South Conference today with a 74-65 win over Pikeville College.

Campbellsville avenged a three point loss to the Bears two weeks ago by using an 8-2 run to open the second half to lead by 10, with 16:48 remaining in the game.  The Tigers spread the lead to 12 with 11:13 to play and led 63-54 with just under 8 minutes remaining.  Pikeville used a 10-3 run to cut the lead down to 66-64 with 3:01 remaining, but Campbellsville sealed it by going 5 of 6 from the free throw line in the final minute.
Colemenares led three Campbellsville players in double figure scoring with Bubba Long (SR/Owensboro, KY) scoring 15 points and Deveon Jenkins had 13 in the win.

The win, combined with a Lindsey Wilson loss at WV Tech today, moves Campbellsville into a third place tie in the MSC standings.  Those two teams meet on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. in Columbia and the winner will have sole possession of third place, and will trail 2nd place Cumberlands by only one game.
