Campbellsville University's Mid-East Region victory Saturday helped it move from the third-ranked team in the nation to the No. 2 seed in the National Christian College Athletic Association Tournament, which will be played Dec. 3-5 at the Kissimmee (Fla.) Civic Center.

"It is very exciting going into the NCCAA National Tournament as the No. 2 seed this year. Last year we were No. 1 and everyone was gunning for us. We will still have a target on our backs, but there is always something about No. 1 and the idea of living up to that rating," CU head coach Randy LeBleu said.

The first two days of the tournament will be pool play, with CU (32-13) sitting atop Pool B. The Lady Tigers will meet Pensacola Christian College in their first match at noon Dec. 3 and close the day against Malone University at 6:30 p.m. On Dec. 4, CU will play Spring Arbor University at 10 a.m. and Southwestern Assemblies of God University at 4 p.m. The top two teams from Pool A and Poll B will meet in the semifinals at 10 a.m. and noon Dec. 5, followed by the championship match at 3 p.m.

" We like the pool we are playing in. We faced Malone at the beginning of the year and won, although it was a highly contested match. From top to bottom, the field of teams in this year's championship is more competitive than last season. Many of the NAIA teams received national votes throughout this season, and No. 1 Mt. Vernon Nazarene was at the 2007 NAIA National Tournament with us," LeBleu said.
