James Clements
University of the Cumberlands ruined Campbellsville's hopes of a run in
the Mid-South Tournament, downing the Tigers 1-0 in Williamsburg on
Saturday.
Goalkeeper James Clements stopped nine of the 10 Patriot shots on goal,
but it was Igor Petsch's shot at the 57:14 mark of the second half that
ended up being CU's undoing.
The Tigers finished a disappointing 7-10-2 (3-4 MSC) after a 17-7 worksheet the year before. It's unclear whether Campbellsville's season will continue in the National Christian College Athletic Association Tournament.
Campbellsville's Casey Clarke managed the Tigers' only shot on goal, as Cumberlands outshot CU 24-5.
