Logan Griffin and David Lee each shot a 69 to lead the Campbellsville University men's golf team to a first-place standing Monday after day one of the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament/Don Bishop Invitational.

The Tigers held off the rain and soggy course to take the lead over Georgetown, 283-292. Lindsey Wilson College also shot 292 to sit tied with Georgetown after the first round at the Campbellsville Country Club.

"They finally put their hearts into it and played the golf I know they can play. They were hitting the ball very solid today. They were obviously encouraging themselves to hit the ball as well as they did," CU head golf coach Kenny Lawson said. "These guys can be more aggressive in this kind of weather at their home course."

Four Campbellsville's A team and two from the B team placed in the Top 20, as Josh Ratterman shot an even par, 72, and Cory Prewitt shot 73 to round out the Tigers' top four scores. B team players Tanner Mobley also shot 73, followed by Scott Foster's 75.

Lindenwood golfer Morgan Leigh was the low medalist for the first round, shooting a 68.

Teams will tee off at 9 a.m. Tuesday for the final round of the tournament.
