Chris Hobbs from Apollo High School in Owensboro, Ky., will continue his academic and athletic career at Campbellsville University.Hobbs will be the Tigers second signee from tradition-rich Apollo High School, Isaiah Moorman was the first.
Hobbs will continue to long, triple and high jump for the Campbellsville University track team next season.
"I actually knew Chris from when he was sophomore at North Hardin High School, and I'm pleased to continue to work with him in college," said CU head track and field coach Joe Stockton.

Stockton has a few multi-sport athletes that will also participate in track next season for the Tigers.

Leading the way for the throwers is Dale Kerr from Evans High School in Orlando, Fla., who has distances of 50 plus in the shot put and 145 in the discus during his senior year. Kerr also qualified for the state meet in the shot put. 

Alex Zimmerman from Fern Creek High School in Louisville, Ky., will also throw discus and shot put. Zimmerman holds Fern Creek's school records in both throws with 48-11 in the shot put and 148-7 in the discus.

Chris Brown from Pelham High School in Pelham, Ala., will specialize in the javelin and hammer throw for next season.
"I can remember when I got the text from Chris stating that he just went 160 feet in the javelin, I knew I had something really special coming to Campbellsville next season," Stockton said. 
Michael Harmon and Kenny Johnson round out the throwers for next season.Harmon from Lexington Christian Academy will help add depth in the discus, shot put and hammer throw.Johnson from Shroder High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, has a personal best on the shot put with throw of 45-5.
"What makes Kenny so special is he can throw 45 feet in the shot and turn around and run the 400in the low 50s," Stockton said. 
"Our group of distance runners could turn out to be the strength of our team next year. Hats off to Coach (Scott) Hortness for finding these runners," he said. 
Qualaun Reed, Armando Pina and Dashan Craft all three hail from Cerritos Community College in Cerritos, Calif., and can compete in the 800-meter and up for the track team. 
Even though the Tigers are returning NCCAA National Champion Detrick Briggs, the addition of Marshall County's Josh Madding to assistant track coach George Eskridge's jumping core presents a chance to solidify one of the best jumping duos in school history. 
Madding finished second at the state meet last season in the long jump with 22-5.
"Josh has got a ton of potential and has his sights set on 23 feet by the end of next season," Stockton said.
The biggest face lift from last year's team will be the sprinters. 
"I personally have always felt that your sprinters and relay teams can give a team a certain swagger," Stockton said. 
Cameron Williams from Independent High School in Thompson Station, Tenn.; Demetrio Edwards from Deltona, Fla.; Devonte Carney from Madison, Tenn.; Doug Roache from Orlando, Fla.; Jerrell Bankhead from College Park, Ga.; Brandon Hillary, Jamar Peden and Walker Church fromCincinnati, Ohio; Derrick Henderson from Danville, Ky.; and Michael McCubbin from Campbellsville will all be in charge of bringing that swagger back to the Campbellsville University Track Team.
