Toya Canty from Western Math, Science and Technology High School in Louisville, Ky., has signed a letter of intent to run for Campbellsville University. "Toya is great student and is a very good catch for the university," said head coach Joe Stockton. He said he thinks Campbellsville University's nursing program grabbed Canty's attention the most.
"She has been one of our top students since she arrived as a freshman (at Western High School)," said Anthony Dickerson, career planner at Western.
Athletically, Canty will help the women's track team in sprints and relays.
"I'm sure after we finish lifting in the fall, Coach Eskridge will be testing her out in the jumps also," Stockton said.
Canty will be representing Western High School in the 400-meter dash at the KHSAA Class AA State Meet this weekend held at the University of Louisville.
