CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville University Tennis hosted its first summer camp of 2014 on Monday, July 14 and will continue Tuesday starting at 9 a.m.
Seven campers showed up in the midst of a rainy morning at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex, forcing the camp to be moved inside the Coca-Cola Indoor Facility.
Head Coach Kyle Caven started with the basics of tennis but moved along quickly as the day one group picked up the skills quite easily.
After starting with a few games to get loose, Caven introduced the backhand and forehand techniques along with various footwork drills.
"We had a great time today, working at a fast paced, fun environment focused on success," said Caven. "Everyone picked up on the skills quickly and showed they all have potential to have a lengthy tennis career."
Caven also introduced the serve, volley and overhead strokes while playing games like ping pong, dodgeball and around the world.
Tomorrow's camp will start at 9 a.m. at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex. New campers are encouraged to come out for the final day of the camp. For more information, CLICK HERE or email Kyle Caven - [email protected]
