COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville placed both the tying and winning runs on base in the ninth, but a popped up bunt and double play ended the Tigers' rally and season late Monday night at Lindsey Wilson College's Egnew Park. St. Catharine College survived the Mid-South Conference Tournament elimination game with a 4-3 win to advance to an elimination game Tuesday afternoon against Shawnee State University at 4 p.m. CDT.
Campbellsville ends its season with a 27-21 record and misses the Mid-South Conference Tournament championship game for only the second time since 2002. The loss also ends an 11-year run of making either an NAIA or NCCAA regional.
The Tigers carried a 2-1 lead into the fifth inning, but two errors in the top of the fifth provided a momentum shift for St. Catharine.

MSC All-Conference selections Carlos Torres and Jacob Russell both went 2-for-4 for CU and started the game with back-to-back singles. Though Russell was doubled off trying to steal second, Torres scored on a passed ball in the inning to give CU a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
St. Catharine stranded two runners in the second, but evened the score in the top of the third inning. Bohorquez fought off six foul balls from Tiger starter Dexter Cline before singling to shallow centerfield. He took second on a stolen base, but Jamie Valle's error on the throw moved Bohorquez to third, and he later scored on a full-count passed ball. Cline got a fly ball to get out of the jam to strand two more Patriot runners, but with the score tied, 1-1.
Campbellsville regained the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third. Torres delivered a two-out double and moved to third on a wild pitch before Russell drove him in with a single past the shortstop Francisco Gonzalez.
