CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Spring golf season began Monday with a 12th place finish in the Lee University Invitational for the Campbellsville University Tigers. Tuesday's final round of the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Tigers shot 322 as a team, one stroke behind Truett-McConnell and two behind Southern Wesleyan University. Lee University won the invitational with a score of 288, only five over par. University of the Cumberlands was second with a 290 and Lindsey Wilson College fourth with a 300.
Scott Foster led CU with a five-over par, 77, performance. Foster shot par on 12 of his 18 holes. Sawyer Stalcup and Kelby Robinson each shot 81, while Trey Shirley shot 83. Cody Goodwin shot 87. As a teeam, the Tigers only had six birdies among the 14 teams competing in the tournament.
Campbellsville will take the rest of March off from tournament play and will compete April 1-2 in the University of the Cumberlands' SEKI Invitational at Crooked Creek in London, Ky. It will also serve as the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament.
