Head Coach Beauford Sanders announced the signing of Alex Tolmachoff last week.

19th year Head Coach Beauford Sanders announced the signing of Right Handed Pitcher Alex Tolmachoff last weekend.  The righty will transfer in as a sophomore after playing his Freshman season at Bethany University (CA).  The Phoenix, Arizona native will certainly be a huge help to the Tigers after having a true freshman year that teetered on dominant for the Bruins out west.

The 6 foot, 180 pounder made twelve starts for Bethany in the 2008 season, helping lead the Bruins to their second best finish in school history.  As the undisputed staff ace, Tolmachoff finished the year with 4-1 record and a staunch 2.24 ERA.  In that time, he walked less than one batter per nine innings and averaged a strikeout per two innings.

Tolmachoff is a crafty sinker-baller with good breaking ball.  He will arrive in early January with the rest of the squad following winter break.

Coach Sanders on the signing of Alex Tolmachoff:  "We look forward to having Alex in the program.  He is a great character guy that will undoubtedly help us.  He dominated in Region 2 last year, and we look for him to do the same for us."
