The Campbellsville Fighting Tiger Football team broke a 13 game losing streak today on the road at West Virginia Tech with a 57-47 win.
 
Campbellsville's Greg Fountain scored five rushing touchdowns, tying a school record, and had 40 carries for 255 yards as the Tigers pounded the Golden Bears with a total of 343 yards on the ground.  Fountain's 40 carries sets a single game record and he is now tied on the All-Time Rushing Touchdown list with 34.
 
The Tigers also had a big defensive day from Jacob Wallace who had three interceptions and T.K. Guess also picked off a pass and ran it back for 49 yards.
The game was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter and Campbellsville took the lead for good in the shootout with :12 seconds to go in the first half when Michael Thomas caught a 3-yard pass.  David Hon, who was a perfect 7-7 on PAT's on the day gave the Tigers a 28-27 halftime lead.
 
Campbellsville scored on it's first possession of the second half as Fountain rumbled 51 yards for a score at the 14:42 mark and from there the Tigers never looked back in giving Perry Thomas his first career win as a collegiate head coach.
 
Campbellsville improves to 1-3 and is 1-0 in MSC East Division play.  This Saturday the Tigers host Shorter College in the annual homecoming matchup.  Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
