Campbellsville University Men's Basketball Coach Keith Adkins has announced a recruiting class of eight new players that will be part of Tiger Basketball this season.

The Tigers are coming off of a 26-10 season that saw the team advance to the NAIA Fab Four Semi-Finals in Kansas City last March and have bulked up the roster with a strong arsenal of guard and wing type players.

The Tigers beefed up the guard positions with the addition of two key players.  Thomas Shumpert (5'11/210 lb/JR/Milwaukee, WI) signed with the Tigers after playing at Cochise Junior College in Arizona. "Thomas is a thick, strong, controlling point guard. He's a good offensive player as far as shooting, a great creator and a great distributor. However his biggest asset is his physical ability as he is extremely strong," said Adkins. Shumpert averaged nearly 12 points per game along with nearly 4.5 assists per game last season.

T.J. Bishop (5'10/175 lb/SR/Boynton Beach, FL) transfers to Campbellsville after playing one year at NCAA DII Missouri-Western and two years at Pasco-Hernando Community College in Florida where he was a teammate of former Tiger Zach Ingles.  "T.J. is jet quick and probably would have been a starter for us last season," said Adkins. "He's a strong point guard and is a great defender along with a great ball handler and distributor," Adkins commented.

Aaron Wyatt (6'4/190 lb/SR/Salisbury, MD) comes to Campbellsville from NCAA DII Georgia Southwestern where he averaged 18.3 points per game. "Aaron may be one of the most talented wing players that we've had in years," said Adkins. "He is extremely athletic at that size with great quickness and shoots with deep range and creates his own shot."   Wyatt played two seasons at Cecil Junior College in Maryland, a national powerhouse in the NJCAA. "We'll move him around on the court and should be one of the better wings in our league and possibly all of the NAIA," said Adkins.

Terrell Holley (6'3/180lb/JR/Colerain, NC) transfers to CU from Roanoke-Chowan Junior College in North Carolina. Holley averaged 22.1 points per game last season and 6.5 rebounds per contest. "He's a good shooter but he relies mostly on his quickness and athleticism. He may be the fastest guy that we have and may be the fastest guy we've had in years and he can get to the rim and finish," said Adkins.

Gerald Kohn (6'4/235lb/JR/Jacksonville, FL) may be the most talented offensive player on the team according to Adkins. Kohn transfers to Campbellsville from St. Johns River Junior College in Florida. He averaged 14.4 points per game last season.  "Gerald is the kind of player that can put points on the board in a hurry and in a lot of different ways. He can post up and has tremendous footwork in the post and is a tremendous deep shooter as a lefty," said Adkins.

Justin Vititoe (6'4/175lb/RSFR/Albany, KY) came to Campbellsville last year at Christmas and sat out the second semester. "Justin will have four years with us and he is a guy that I think is going to surprise a lot of people," said Adkins. "He played mostly at a post position high school but he'll play the two or three for us and is a good ball handler, good passer and may be the fiercest competitor that we have," said Adkins. "He's a guy we'll move around defensively too," commented Adkins.

Ryan Pride (6'8/190lb/SO/Jacksonville, FL) transfers to Campbellsville from Brevard Community College in Florida. Pride will be eligible after Christmas. "Ryan is a little thin for the type of post player we've brought in the past couple of years but he is a very good ball handler, shoots with good range and is a good four man for us offensively. The key will be can he defend for us at that height and weight at the post in our league," said Adkins.

Jamal Rolle (6'5/210lb/JR/Baileytown, Bemini, Bahamas) is coming to Campbellsville from Northwestern Junior College in Wyoming and will have two years of eligibility remaining. "Jamal will be the most athletic kid we'll have in terms of running and jumping and we're expecting him to be an undersized four man. He is a big time competitor, gets to it on the defensive end and gets to the glass well with games of 12 to 14 rebounds last season," said Adkins.

The Tigers are scheduled to open the season on November 3rd with an exhibition at NCAA DI University of Arkansas.
