Scott Hortness has been named the new men's and women's cross country coach at Campbellsville University.
 
Hortness is a familiar face at CU as he has been an assistant baseball coach the past seven seasons He will take over the reigns of the cross country teams after former coach Mark Rowe recently accepted the Green County (KY) High School coaching position.
Hortness, an avid runner, will inherit a women's cross country team that is the pre-season favorite to win the Mid-South Conference.   CU is also expected to contend for the men's title as well.
 
He has 22 years experience in coaching and is a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
