GREENVILLE, S.C. - Campbellsville Lady Tiger basketball player Mackenzie Lee has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association's Player of the Week for the first week of January.

"Mackenzie has really stepped up her game this season," said Coach Ginger Colvin. "She was hampered early by a foot injury and seems to be back to her old self. She played successfully in the shadows of great players for two seasons and it's nice to see her shining."

Lee, a junior guard from Mt. Sterling, Ky., once again scored a career-high in Mid-South Conference action January 14. After scoring a then-career-high 27 points on January 5 at Pikeville, Lee scored 29 points and secured a career-high nine rebounds in an 85-81 Lady Tiger victory over St. Catharine College. She also had six steals and one assist in the win.

"She has been a vital part of our program since she set foot on campus," said Colvin. "It's nice to see her receive this recognition."

Lee is averaging 13 points, nearly six rebounds and three assists and steals a game.

The NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week award is awarded to one male and one female athlete in each active sport in both Division I and Division II, chosen from the list of nominees submitted by all recognized sports each week.

The student-athlete should exemplify the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA.
