LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University's Conor Young is the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
The weekly award is the second of the season for Young, who also picked up the award on Nov. 21. He is the first wrestler this season to earn the award twice.
Young won both matches he participated in on Sunday to remain perfect on the season.
The Silver Creek, Ga., junior began his weekend with a pin of William Penn's Ishmael Repson at 6:00 in the 157-pound match. The win helped the Tigers to a 30-21 win over the 15th ranked team in the NAIA.
In his next match, Young -- ranked No. 6 at 157 pounds -- beat Concordia (Neb.) University's LeSean Sanders in a technical fall 17-0. The Tigers handed No. 19-ranked Concordia a 24-21 loss.
Young improves to 8-0 this season in duals.
The next wrestler of the week award is scheduled to be announced on Monday, Jan. 9.
