Richmond, Kentucky -  Andre Braima and Detrick Briggs became Campbellsville's second and third qualifiers for the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held in St. Louis, Missouri in May.
 
Both athletes qualified this weekend at the Eastern Kentucky University Invitational as the Campbellsville University Track team continues to set new school records.
   
Briggs provided the highlight of the meet for the Tigers in the Triple Jump.  He hit the NAIA "A" Standard for the event with a school record 14.94 meters (49.00 feet) and qualified for the NAIA National Meet.  As of Friday night, Brigg's jump was the fifth best of the season in all of the NAIA.
 
Andre Braima finished 4th in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase and eclipsed the NAIA "B" Standard for the event with a new CU record of 9:35.20 and also shattered his personal best time in the event.  As of Friday night, Braima's time in the event is the seventh best of the season in the NAIA.
 
Other highlights of the meet for Campbellsville included Caitlin Pritchett setting a new CU record in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a 17.05 and Miranda Meeks finished 3rd in the 5K race with a time of 19:07.  Meeks has already qualified for the 3000 Meter Steeplechase event at the NAIA National Championships.
 
The Tigers will have two more opportunities to qualify individuals for the NAIA National's at this weekend's MSC Championships in Williamsburg, Kentucky and then on May 9th at the Bill Hayes Invitational at the University of Indiana.
 
The NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Meet will begin on May 22nd.
