CU cross country runners train on the campus loop during the first week of camp in late August.
Freshman Andrew Simmons and senior Armando Pina both finished in the Top 25 individually Saturday to led Campbellsville to a fifth-place finish at the Sodexo Grizzly Invitational in Franklin, Ind.
Simmons, a native of Owensboro, Ky., finished 18th individually with a time of 28:18.40 on the 8K course. Pina, a senior from Long Beach, Calif., was 23rd with a time of 28:44.23.
Dashan Craft and Bradley Harris were fourth and fifth for the Tigers and 28th and 29th overall. Craft posted a time of 29:15.79 with Harris on his heels with a time of 29:16.24.
David McKellar (33:40.46) and Matt Oliver (41:11.04) were the other Tiger runners.
Campbellsville was fifth overall with a time of 2:29:15.12. Host institution Franklin College won the race with a time of 2:13:32.27.
Campbellsville returns to action in Danville, Ky., next Saturday in the Centre College Invitational.
