With its first 2-0 start since 2003, Campbellsville University is catching the nation's attention, vaulting from No. 25 to No. 18 in this week's Victory Sports Network Top 25 Rankings, announced Sunday morning. 


Campbellsville started the season with one foot in the door of the VSN Top 25, but wins over Kentucky Christian University (34-7) and Union College (47-36) the past two weeks have the Tigers on the move as the second-highest ranked Mid-South Conference team. University of the Cumberlands fell from No. 7 to No. 10 after a season-opening loss to McKendree Aug. 28. The Tigers' seven-spot leap is the largest move in this week's rankings.

The top six spots remain the same in the ranking, with University of Sioux Falls remaining as the NAIA's top team after defeating No. 20 Northwestern College (Iowa) to start the season 1-0 and extend its win streak to 30 games. Saint Francis (Ind.) takes Cumberland's spot at the No. 7 spot. The only new team to the first regular season poll is Webber International at No. 24. Webber opened its season Saturday with a 27-20 win over Georgetown College.

Campbellsville (2-0) is receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll preseason. The first regular season coaches poll will be released Sept. 13. The Tigers (2-0) travel to Cumberland University (0-1) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
