Campbellsville University juniors Jeffery Demary and David Hon, along with Bethel University sophomore Cordarious Mann, are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week for the week ending Aug. 28, the conference announced on Monday.

Demary totaled four tackles -- two solo and two assisted -- and intercepted a pass to earn the MSC Defensive Player of the Week. The Columbia, S.C., defensive back, also contributed a pair of pass break-ups in the Tigers' 34-7 win over MSC East Division foe Kentucky Christian University on Saturday.

Demary's interception -- which he returned 50 yards to set up the first Campbellsville touchdown of the game -- ended an early scoring chance for the visiting Knights on a third down try. CU's defense allowed only one successful third down attempt in 14 tries, while hold the Knights to 91 yards of total offense. Demary's interception was also the first of four takeaways by the Campbellsville defense in the game.

Hon was perfect on the night, scoring 10 points in the Tigers' win to earn MSC Special Teams Player of the Week. The Orange Park, Fla., kicker/punter, connected on a pair of field goals -- the long from 34 yards out -- and made all four of his point after attempts. Demary also served as Hon's holder on all four extra points and second field goal. In addition to his kicking duties, Hon averaged 31.8 yards per punt, including a long of 43 yards in the game.

Campbellsville improves to 1-0 both overall and in the East Division with the win and will travel to Union College on Saturday for a noon ET kickoff.

Mann totaled 152 yards rushing and scored a three touchdowns in a losing effort to earn MSC Offensive Player of the Week. The Jackson, Tenn., running back, averaged 10.1 yards per carry as the Wildcats lost to No. 4-ranked St. Xavier (Ill.) University 49-32 on Thursday. Mann scored twice on the ground and a third on a reception. He caught two balls out of the backfield for 47 yards.

Bethel falls to 0-1 on the season with the loss.

Mann, Demary and Hon are the first recipients of the weekly conference awards. The next football players of the week are scheduled to be announced on Monday, Sept. 6.
