The Campbellsville Country Club serves as the Tigers' home course.
The time for Tiger's Golf
2010-2011 season is almost here. Campbellsville University will open its fall
season by hosting the President's Cup match against rival Lindsey Wilson, Aug.
28-29.
From there, the Tigers head to Crooked Creek to challenge the University of the
Cumberlands in the Bill Sergent Invite and then travel to Burkesville, Ky., to
defend their Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament title at Dale Hollow State
Park, Sept. 13-14.
CU will host one of its toughest Don Bishop Invitationals, Sept. 27-28, as
three or four nationally ranked teams are expected to compete. Before returning
to the NCCAA National Championships in Panama City, Fla., the Tigers will close
the fall regular season with a trip to Southern Wesleyan for the SWU
Invitational in South Carolina.
"It looks to be an excellent season," CU head coach Kenny Lawson said. "We are going
back to the NCCAA National Championships for the third year in a row where we
hope we can compete at a high level and give us a chance to win the NCCAA
Championships."
As the 2010-11 season begins, three new recruits will compete for a spot in the
Tigers' top five.
Fresh off a summer victory at the 2010 Gallatin Invitational at Gallatin
Country Club, J.R. Chauncey joins the Tigers as a transfer student from the
Golf Academy of America. Joining him will be incoming freshmen Myles Ashley
from Powell County High School and Brandon Collier from Paul Laurence Dunbar.
"With Myles Ashley, Brandon Collier and JR Chauncey coming in, they will bring
a strong work ethic and determination to win," Lawson said. "All three work
really hard at their individual games and want to succeed while they are
playing at Campbellsville University. They will all make a big impact for the
team to help win tournaments and get back to the NAIA Nationals."

minor in coaching, while working his way to, "…become a positive leader on the
golf team and get a couple of rings to add to my collection".

Myles Ashley joins the Tiger team fresh from Powell County High School. He was
