Infielders get footwork instruction around second base
Forty-five girls descended on Campbellsville University's campus on Monday for the beginning of a three-day softball camp.

Fastpitch U. Softball Camp, sponsored by CU and Borders Softball Academy (BSA), offered girls ages 13-18 an opportunity to get quality offensive and defensive instruction from some of the best Mid-South Conference mentors and four other coaches with varied softball experience.

CU Head Coach Shannon Wathen was joined by her assistant, Bryce White, and her players who served as counselors. Also on hand were: Holly Smith, St. Catharine College; Ashley McCool and Bobbi Easler, Lindsey Wilson College; Kim Borders, owner and pitching instructor for BSA; Amy Tudor, Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne; Jerie Alexander, Louisiana Lafayette; and Heather Groenewoud, hitting and catching instructor for BSA.

According to Wathen, the girls will get three days of instruction in all aspects of the game - including offense,  defense and pitching.
