Campbellsville University golfers Josh Ratterman and Trey Shirley made
good showings in the recently-completed Kentucky State Amateur at Richmond's Gibson Bay Golf Course.
Ratterman, a recently-graduated senior from Louisville, Ky., and
Shirley, a sophomore-to-be from Edmonton, Ky., finished tied for 25th
place with 54-hole totals of 216.
"I encourage my players and recruits to play in the state am and other tournaments," said Tiger Golf Coach Kenny Lawson, "to help them improve."

Three other Tiger golfers competed, but did not make the cut. Logan Griffin, a sophomore-to-be from Hawesville, Ky., shot an opening-round 76. Will Anderson and Cory Prewitt shot 78 and 79, respectively. Anderson is a junior-to-be from Taylorsville, Ky., and Prewitt, who will be a senior, is
from Lexington, Ky.
Ratterman was tied for 16th after an opening-round, 2-under-par 70. He sandwiched a closing round 69 around a second-round 77 to close at even par for the three-day event. Shirley fired an opening-round, 1-over-par 73 and followed that with a 74 and eventually tied his fellow former teammate at even par when both closed with 3-under 69s.
