Amy Eckenfels first volleyball recruiting class will take on a north-of-the-border flavor with the recent signing of Genevieve Collette.

Collette, a 5'10" right-side-hitter from Winnipeg, Canada has committed to play for the Lady Tigers.

"Gen meets or exceeds every expectation that I have for her as a player. She is very personable, respectful and talented and will be a welcome addition to our program," said Eckenfels.

Collette comes from Lakeland College where she averaged 2.55 kills, 1.16 service aces and 1.9 digs per game. A team captain while there, she also received a Board of Governor's scholarship for leadership and community involvement which included being part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster and Rustler's Reading Program.

In high school, she was a member of the 2005 AAAA Provincial Finalists with College Jeanne Sauvé. She was also a Finalist for Team Manitoba at the 2005 French Canadian Games held in Winnipeg.

In 2004, she and her twin sister, Brianne, teamed up to win the SCAC Badminton Doubles Championship.
