PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The seeds continued to hold on the women’s side of the 2008 Community Trust Bank Mid-South Conference tournament, with top-seeded Lindsey Wilson holding off No. 4 Campbellsville 75-68 Sunday at the East Kentucky Expo Center.

Lindsey Wilson (21-10) will play in tomorrow morning’s championship game, where it will meet the winner of today’s second game between the 2-3 seeds, Cumberlands and Georgetown.

Campbellsville ended its first season under Ginger Colvin 19-13.

Each team had its share of runs, with Campbellsville opening the game much as it did in Saturday’s opening round. A 14-7 run, keyed by four Lady Tiger three-point bombs, built a 20-12 lead with 14:07 left.

Moments later, the Lady Raiders got points from six different players in a 20-6 stretch that lasted nearly eight minutes, giving them a 36-30 lead with 2:42 to play. The lead was 40-33 at the break.

Lindsey built its lead to 15 (51-36) when Moneta Anderson scored with 16 minutes left before the Campbellsville made an extended run. Five different players scored as part of a 21-4 stretch. Kristi Ensminger had eight, including the final four that took the Lady Tigers to a 57-55 lead with 7:42 remaining.

But the deciding run came in the final five minutes and largely from the free throw line. Lindsey Wilson scored 10 straight points to go from two down to eight (72-64) up, going 8-of-8 from the free throw line during the run. Moneta Anderson had six, hitting all four of its tosses, to go up eight and secure the win.

Four Lady Raiders hit double figures, led by Kera Osterfeld’s 16 points and nine rebounds. Terran Duncan flipped in 15 and pulled down nine boards. Anderson and Viktoria Krell scored 12 each, with Krell adding 13 boards for the double-double.

Lindsey Wilson won the battle of the boards 49-29.

Campbellsville had four starters in double digits, led by Jenna Hedges’ 14 points. Pricila Alves and Courtney Danis added 12 points each, while Ensminger flipped in 11.
