Catie Sattler said she loves the school, the campus and the sports
ministry program at Campbellsville University. It also didn't hurt that a
tiger is her favorite animal.
Tiger Swim Coach Lindsay Hines is glad, because Sattler signed a letter
of intent on Friday to swim next year for CU.
"Catie is exactly what we're looking for in a team member," said Hines. "She seems well grounded in her path for life and will fit in nicely with our returning swimmers."
Sattler swam for Forest Hill Central High in Grand Rapids, Mich. for four years.
Connie Sattler, who accompanied her daughter on a trip for Tiger Roundup, said Catie was a four-year member of her high school team and will be following in her mom's footsteps - so to speak.
Connie swam competitively for Hope College where she earned NAIA All-American honors.
Catie says she prefers the butterfly and sprint freestyle events where she reached a comfort level in high school.
"Our vision for Catie is to be competitive every day in practice to help her improve and also improve her fellow teammates," said Hines.
Catie sounded like she would be good with that and the fact that Campbellsville University is nice and small and won't make her feel like she's just a number. So, now the only numbers Catie has to be worried about will be the digits that pop up on her coach's stop watch.
