Campbellsville University freshman Starsha Fant is the Mid-South
Conference Women's Track & Field Performer of the Week, the
conference announced on Monday.
Fant recorded three top-10 finishes, including a win in the
400-meters at the Centre (Ky.) College Invitational to earn her first
conference weekly honor of the season and the first of her career.
The
Louisville, Ky., native, finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 1
minute and 0.59 seconds. It was a new personal record and school record, as she shaved four seconds off her time. For the win, Fant earned 10 points towards
Campbellsville's team total.
In the 800-meters, Fant finished 10th overall with a time of
2:30.02. While not earning any points, she was the top finisher among NAIA runners in the event. She and her 4x400 meter relay teammates earned six points for
their third place with a time of 4:11.18.
Campbellsville finished fourth in the 12-team field with 73 team points. CU travels to the University of the Cumberlands on April 10.
